2025 Championship report.
95 ladies competed in the qualifying round on a lovely sunny day at Wakefield Golf Club.
There were some excellent scores.
Lynn Wass, Selby Golf Club returned the best gross with a 73 to take home the Barrett Trophy.
Andrea Johnson ,Oakdale Golf Club had a fantastic score of 66 nett and received the Elliot Trophy.
The course was in great condition playing firm and fast. There were many complements, especially about the quality of the greens.
Wakefield Golf Club were very excited about hosting the Championship and had pulled out all of the stops, with many members helping both on the course and in the clubhouse.
Wednesday dawned with another sunny day ahead. The best 16 scores were first out playing match play from scratch.
All matches were keenly contested and played in good spirit.
Following the matches 13 teams competed in the Tri Am competition. Everyone seemed to have a good time and some very good scores were returned considering the tricky conditions.

Wednesday afternoon the Match Play resumed with all players performing well in the heat of the day. Once again there were some tight matches with one match going to the first extra hole.
On the final day after playing 36 holes in the heat of the previous day the four semi finalists began their quest to become one step nearer to the final.
All players showed grit and determination, with Karen Jobling Richmond Golf Club and Emma Brown Malton and Norton Golf Club emerging victors.
Thursday afternoon was the culmination of a long and hard week for the two finalists.
Quite a few spectators were there to watch and were treated to some excellent golf from both players.
Emma started strongly and quickly had a three hole lead. Karen fought hard playing some super golf against an in form Emma who eventually proved too strong.
Emma retained her title in emphatic style, well done to her and everyone who played this week.
