First Team Trials / Training - 12th April at Ilkley GC
Twelve players came to this event - less than normal due to an unavoidable clash with a popular pre-season competition held by the NCVLGA at Mottram Hall.
Attending were Elaine Arnott, Sandra Taylor, Alison Kelly, Heather Butcher, Cath Lake, Julie Parry, Kate Dunham, Alison Clark, Ruth Skaife-Clarke, Angela Morris and Lynn Wass.
The format was a Tri Am, following a random draw and the winning team was Elaine, Cath and Ruth. Notably, Cath also won the par 3 challenge and had 4 birdies!

This is a popular day, relaxed but competitive golf with many hard-fought matches. It was good to see Claire Smith back at Ilkley - she was a member in her teenage days and still holds the ladies red tee course record. Rachel Lomas was also known to many team members, having played on the YLCGA team alongside Ruth & Emma. With 2 of the Mid Ams team now in their 40s (they shall remain nameless!), we look forward to potentially welcoming them to the YSLGA teams in the near future!
The final result was a win for the YSLGA by 2 1/2 to 1 1/2.
